Introduction to CSS Grid
Christina Costello
We finally have a truly 2-dimensional layout system native to CSS, but many teams are not yet using it in production. This session will provide a beginner's overview of how and when to use grid, aimed at growing your confidence with this powerful tool.
Attendees will gain familiarity with grid's important concepts, such as: implicit vs explicit grids, lines vs tracks, and inline vs block alignment. We'll tackle the fr unit, minmax(), repeat(), auto-fill vs auto-fit, and more.
We'll also discuss when to use grid instead of flexbox, browser support and fallbacks, and what will soon be possible with subgrid.
Attendees should be comfortable with intermediate CSS.
